What is Lofi Tape?


It is an audio effect plugin that adds tape-like fluctuations (wow & flutter) and light saturation. You can easily add a Lo-Fi texture with simple controls.

What formats are supported?


macOS: VST3 / AU

What are the supported operating systems?

It is compatible with both macOS and Windows.

On Mac, it only runs on Apple Silicon. Intel Macs are not supported. For Windows, please use a 64-bit environment.

How much CPU does it use?


It features a lightweight design. In an Ableton Live 96kHz project, it uses approximately 5–6% per instance, and about 13% even when using 32 tracks (these are estimates and will vary depending on the project content).

Is activation required?

No activation is necessary. You can use it simply by installing or placing the downloaded files. Click here for installation instructions.

Is an internet connection required during use?

No, it can be used in an offline environment.

How do I install it?

  • macOS: Run the .pkg file to install.
  • Windows: Please place the VST3 file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.

How do I uninstall it?

Please delete the following files:

It doesn’t appear in my DAW

Please re-run your plugin scan. Also, check the installation destination folder.

What kind of effects can I get?

You can achieve the following effects:

  • Pitch fluctuations (wow/flutter)
  • Light distortion (saturation)
  • Addition of tape-like textures

Is there any latency?


It is 0 samples. However, due to internal processing, there may be a perceived change caused by variable delay.

What uses is it suitable for?

  • Texture adjustment for drum loops
  • Adding fluctuations to synths and pads
  • Light lo-fi processing on the master bus

The noise or distortion is too strong

Please adjust the saturation amount or the mix balance.

There is constant noise

Increasing the Hiss parameter will generate constant noise.

The sound fluctuates too much

Please lower the Wow/Flutter amount.

The plugin crashes

Please ensure you are using the latest version and check your DAW compatibility. Operation is not guaranteed in all DAWs or environments.
